Workshops

bring both telling and reading to life!

Story Workshops - for Primary and Early Years Professionals

This is the ideal format to allow me to illustrate how to bring a story to life, and give participants a practical taste of preparation and delivery.

I emphasise how many "telling" skills can be used to enhance your reading with children.

Enhancing the reading experience - for Foundation parents

Story sharing can be an holistic experience for the parent and child.

A parent's approach to reading with their children is critical. How they feel about it will be transmitted and transferred to their children and, if positive, could have long term benefits.

Storytelling - for pupils in yrs. 5-7

The children experience storytelling and the sharing of traditional stories from a range of cultures.

They also learn about the ingredients of a good story and how these stories are stuctured.

The children were spellbound. They thought the stories and songs were wonderful. Most went home and told them to their family. This is definitely a day to be recommended.

Sawtry Infant School, Cambridge.

Staff and pupils always know they are in for a treat when Charlie visits - but when he came in May this year he was totally brilliant!
Pupils from 7 to 11 were captivated - you could hear a pin drop - their concentration was absolute.
Of course they liked to join in too. Charlie, having taught for many years, has an excellent relationship with the children - he has complete control - although they can be very excited, he never allows them to 'get out of hand'.
